Port FAQs – Cork (Ringaskiddy)
How early should I arrive at the port?
We recommend arriving at the port at least 2 hours before departure. This allows sufficient time for check‑in, security, and any required pre‑departure procedures.
Please note that check‑in closes strictly 45 minutes before departure. Passengers arriving after this time may be refused boarding, as we are unable to guarantee processing once the check‑in deadline has passed.
To avoid disappointment, we strongly advise allowing extra time for traffic, parking and arrival at the terminal.
Can I park at the port?
Parking at the port is available for short‑stay drop‑off and pick‑up only. There is no long‑stay passenger parking permitted within the port area.
If you are being dropped off or collected, designated short‑stay areas allow sufficient time to set down or pick up passengers before exiting the port. Passengers travelling with their own vehicles should follow the appropriate vehicle check‑in procedures as advised prior to departure.
Those wishing to park for longer periods are advised to use off‑site parking facilities in Ringaskiddy and surrounds or make alternative transport arrangements.
Is the port easy to find?
Yes, Ringaskiddy is well signposted and connected via the N28 from Cork City.
Are there passenger facilities at the terminal?
There are no food or drink facilities inside the terminal building. A mobile coffee trailer is often stationed outside for those waiting to board, although it may only accept cash.
There are shops, cafés and places to eat in the wider Ringaskiddy area if you wish to pick up refreshments before arriving at the port.
Can I be dropped off at the port as a foot passenger?
Yes, drop-off can be arranged, but it’s best to plan ahead as public transport options directly to the port are limited.
