Procedures For Drop Off & Collection of Hibernia Line Unaccompanied Freight at Port of Cork.

1. Introduction

The Port of Cork operate a shared unaccompanied freight laydown area for Ferry service at the Port of Cork ferry terminal, Ringaskiddy, County Cork.

2. Drop-off and collection instructions for storage not during vessel ops

Drops 0700 – 1900 Monday-Friday. 0700-1600 Saturday.

  • Report to Deep Water Quay (DWQ) security check point.
  • Provide shipping documentation for collection/drop or both.
  • Driver to have valid personnel identification (i.e. driver’s license, passport).
  • Direction and access will be given by security staff at DWQ to the trailer compound at gate 33.
  • Leave unaccompanied vehicle in allocated position and apply brake with paperwork. (Including any instructions regarding Plug in temperatures on board).
  • Security team at DWQ to email Unit number, booking number and haulier info like below to the addresses indicated.

3. Dangerous Goods

Classification of Dangerous goods accepted for shipping to be confirmed with Hibernia 24 hrs PRIOR to arrival at the port. All dangerous goods to be provided with the following.

  • Dangerous Goods note.
  • Instructions in writing.
  • Correct DG labels.

Check-in at the Freight Office

Procedure for Import Drop Trailers/Unaccompanied vehicles: (COLLECTION)

  • Driver must present valid personnel identification (i.e. driver’s license, passport) to correspond with the Freight Release Form.
  • Check-out with port security and report any damage before leaving the terminal.
  • Security team at DWQ to email Unit number, booking number and haulier info like below to the addresses indicated.

Drops during vessel hours.

  • Report to Pre-check in area
  • The Driver is to approach the check in huts where they will be processed by Hibernia staff and advised to Port of Cork.
